What can you do in Zaandam?
Zaandam is of course best known for the Zaanse Schans. On the Zaanse Schans revive the 18th and 19th centuries. Stroll past the bakery museum and enjoy the smell of fresh bread, or take a look inside the warehouse where clogs are made. The Zaanse Schans is a unique part of the Netherlands, full of authentic wooden houses, windmills, barns and workshops. Take a bike or boat trip, browse around in the stores or come and feast at the pancake restaurant. The Zaanse Schans can be visited daily for free.

Besides the charming stores on the Zaanse Schans you can also visit the center of Zaandam. The center of Zaandam has recently been renewed and finished in second place as Best Inner City in 2013.
